Well this town needs HELP!

As most of you know Titusville is home to Kennedy Space Center.

The Shuttle program is winding down and Obama killed the follow on
Constellation program so it looks like up to 8K people will lose their jobs
locally and then the domino effect will more than likely hammer another
25K people and their jobs.

It ain't looking good here folks...unemployment is over 11% here now.

In case you haven't noticed I've been rather absent from the board as of
late...I've been teaching at a college here and working in the community
to try and mitigate the impact of the "coming doom".

Anyway, I was approached by ALOT of people and encouraged to run for
a seat on the City Council so I threw my hat into the race.

And so I need your help...financially of course. I'd like to ask the board
members to make small contributions to my campaign so I can defray
mailing and postage costs that are coming up shortly.

Yeah I know...it's tight EVERYWHERE with EVERYBODY including for me...
but just imagine...a Rockman Head in Office!!!!

I really could use your support both emotionally and financially.

I'm up against two guys who will probably spend alot of $ but I'm walking
door to door with my literature and asking people for their votes. I'm
actually surprised at how people are so positively reacting to doing just
that. I guess they figure this is someone who really wants the job and is
committed (or SHOULD be).

It costs $.28 just to mail a damn post card out these days and I need to
do a mailing by end of next week...2,500...so I need to pull together
$725!

I expect my campaign postcards to arrive tomorrow...I'll post images later.

My goal is to just survive the Primary and then I'll have until Nov. to pull
a good solid campaign together. Hell, I may even get lucky and get 50%
+ 1 vote, knock both those guys out and the whole thing will be over right
then and there.

Best of luck Patrick! too bad I don't live in Florida. As for the shuttle program, according to Popular Science the Air Force is taking over flights to service satellites and Space Station. I hope they get NASA back on track though, so if you make it and introduce a bill to get things back up and running I pester the hell out of Congressmen for you!
